What does each one do?
Calendly handles booking and the work around meetings. Free is $0 with one event type and one calendar connection. Standard adds unlimited event types, multiple calendars, reminders and HubSpot, Mailchimp, Stripe and PayPal connections. Teams adds round-robin and team scheduling, routing forms and Salesforce [1]. A Notetaker add-on joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams meetings [1].
Torchrunner is one app for solo operators and small teams who do client work. Leads, contacts, companies and engagements sit on one record with the inbox (unlimited Gmail and Outlook accounts, plus Slack, WhatsApp, SMS, LinkedIn and Telegram), a business phone line, calendar and booking pages, projects and tasks, documents and notes, and your own books.
Archie and nine specialists do the work across those modules. Runners are automations that start on a real event and log every step. Anything that leaves the business, moves money or deletes data waits for a person's yes unless you choose otherwise.
Where do they overlap?
Both give you booking pages and send the meeting to your calendar.
Calendly is a scheduling tool that connects to the CRM you already have. In Torchrunner the booking page, the calendar, the meeting agenda, the recording and transcript, and the follow-up all sit on the client's record.
What does Torchrunner replace, and what does it connect to?
The scheduling tool and booking pages, plus web forms, and for most solo operators the CRM and inbox around them.
Your Google or Microsoft calendar and email through their official APIs, your own Stripe account, your clients' QuickBooks Online, and your own AI.
How does pricing compare?
Calendly costs far less as a scheduler alone. Torchrunner's price covers booking pages plus the CRM, inbox, phone, projects, documents and your own books.

Who should pick which?
Scheduling is the job: you need booking links, team round-robin or routing, and your CRM is already set.
You want booking, the meeting and the follow-up in the same place as the client's email, projects and invoices.
Switching: what moves over?
Recreate your event types as booking pages in Torchrunner during setup, then swap the links on your site and email signature.
Implementation, including setup and data migration, is done by AtPace, our implementation partner, and priced by AtPace. Once you are in, your data stays yours: export your records as a ZIP at any time, or schedule backups to your own SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox.
