What does each one do?
Notion is a workspace for docs, wikis, databases and projects. Free is $0; Plus adds custom forms, sites and file uploads; Business adds Notion Agent, custom agents and AI meeting notes; Enterprise adds SCIM and audit log [1].
Torchrunner is one app for solo operators and small teams who do client work. Leads, contacts, companies and engagements sit on one record with the inbox (unlimited Gmail and Outlook accounts, plus Slack, WhatsApp, SMS, LinkedIn and Telegram), a business phone line, calendar and booking pages, projects and tasks, documents and notes, and your own books.
Archie and nine specialists do the work across those modules. Runners are automations that start on a real event and log every step. Anything that leaves the business, moves money or deletes data waits for a person's yes unless you choose otherwise.
Where do they overlap?
Both hold documents, notes and a knowledge base, and both have AI that reads them.
Notion is a blank workspace you organize yourself. In Torchrunner, documents, notes, voice notes and screen recordings attach to the client, engagement or project they belong to, so Archie reads them in context and nothing has to be copied over.
What does Torchrunner replace, and what does it connect to?
The wiki and docs tool for client work, plus for most solo operators the CRM, inbox and project tools.
Gmail and Microsoft, your own Stripe account, your clients' QuickBooks Online and your own AI. Torchrunner does not list a Notion connection today.
How does pricing compare?
Notion costs less as a docs tool alone. Torchrunner's price covers documents plus the CRM, inbox, phone, projects and your own books.

Who should pick which?
You want a flexible team wiki and docs workspace that you design yourself, and client records live elsewhere.
Your documents are about clients and engagements, and you want them next to the email, calls, tasks and invoices for that client.
Switching: what moves over?
Documents and notes move over during setup and attach to the right client or engagement. Google Docs and Microsoft Word files can come with them.
Implementation, including setup and data migration, is done by AtPace, our implementation partner, and priced by AtPace. Once you are in, your data stays yours: export your records as a ZIP at any time, or schedule backups to your own SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox.
