What does each one do?
Pipedrive is a sales CRM built around a visual pipeline of deals. It has four plans, Lite, Growth, Premium and Ultimate, priced per seat [1]. Limits climb by plan: Lite holds 2,500 leads and deals per user, Growth 5,000, and Premium 15,000 per company [2]. Projects, Campaigns, LeadBooster and Smart Docs are add-ons, and Pipedrive lists more than 500 integrations [1].
Torchrunner is one app for solo operators and small teams who do client work. Leads, contacts, companies and engagements sit on one record with the inbox (unlimited Gmail and Outlook accounts, plus Slack, WhatsApp, SMS, LinkedIn and Telegram), a business phone line, calendar and booking pages, projects and tasks, documents and notes, and your own books.
Archie and nine specialists do the work across those modules. Runners are automations that start on a real event and log every step. Anything that leaves the business, moves money or deletes data waits for a person's yes unless you choose otherwise.
Where do they overlap?
Both track leads and deals through stages, log email and activity on the contact, and automate follow-ups. Pipedrive's pricing page says every plan works with Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP assistant [1]; Torchrunner also connects Claude and other AI over MCP.
Pipedrive stops at the sale and sells project tools as an add-on. In Torchrunner the won deal becomes an engagement with its projects, documents, meetings and invoices on the same record.
What does Torchrunner replace, and what does it connect to?
The CRM, and for most solo operators the separate inbox, phone, scheduling and project tools around it.
Gmail and Microsoft through their official APIs, your own Stripe account for invoicing, your clients' QuickBooks Online, and your own AI on the same records. Torchrunner does not list a Pipedrive connection today.
How does pricing compare?
Pipedrive's prices are VAT exclusive [1]. Torchrunner's price includes the inbox, phone line, projects, documents and your own books, so the closer comparison is Pipedrive plus the tools you run beside it.

Who should pick which?
You run a sales team that lives in the pipeline, and delivery happens in tools other people own. Pipedrive's pipeline view and sales reports are built for that.
You sell and deliver the work yourself, or with a small team, and you want the pipeline, the client's email and calls, the project and the invoice on one record, with Archie drafting the follow-ups.
Switching: what moves over?
Leads, deals, contacts and organizations move over during setup, and connected email accounts attach past mail to the matching contact.
Implementation, including setup and data migration, is done by AtPace, our implementation partner, and priced by AtPace. Once you are in, your data stays yours: export your records as a ZIP at any time, or schedule backups to your own SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox.
